XIV Summer Sessions

Although the winters in Los Angeles are never quite that harsh, the “off season” wait for XIV Summer Sessions can always seem bleak and dreary. Fortunately for LA, the wait is over and the party that revolutionized the nightlife industry standards in Los Angeles is now back!

The infamous party that coined the phrase “Save Water, Spray Champagne” began in 2009 as a small daytime event at the former restaurant known as XIV, located on Sunset Boulevard. In 2011, when the restaurant closed its doors to the public, the XIV Summer Sessions party relocated to the Colony Nightclub, located in Hollywood.

Famous for its sensory overload of confetti, CO2, electrifying house music, beautiful people, and what is now known as the art of champagne spraying, XIV Summer Sessions has become a Sunday evening summer ritual for LA’s elite. Guests can expect nothing but the best in DJ talent as past DJs include Afrojack, Chuckie, Fedde Le Grand, and Laidback Luke.

The Los Angeles-born day party, deemed America’s most ‘exclusive’ day spot by the LA Times, XIV has grown into a national phenomenon as it has expanded its brand to the famous Las Vegas Strip, located at HYDE Lounge in the Bellagio, as well as to the heart of South Beach, located at Hyde Beach at the SLS.

Luresday: Thursday Nights At Club Lure

LA nightlife pioneers, Sunset Entertainment Group (SEG), who brought you The Sunset Room, White Lotus, Cabana Club, and Green Door, once again revolutionize Los Angeles’ nightlife scene with Lure, the ultimate nightclub experience. In collaboration with Boulevard Nightlife Group and REACT Presents, Lure will present the world’s top DJ’s and entertainment, right in the heart of Hollywood.

Boasting a 50,000 watt Line Array sound system with lighting designed by the renowned Steve Lieberman, and high-definition LED Walls, Lure is the new premium nightlife venue in Los Angeles. Lure also features a state of the art Kryosystem, 110 kinetic light spheres that are choreographed with the music, plush lounge seating, and four full service bars.

Lure is designed by critically acclaimed architect and designer, Gulla Jonsdottir, a 2009 recipient of Hospitality Design’s “Wave of the Future” award. Jonsdottir is the creative and visionary force behind some of the most striking hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and spas in the world. Upon entering Lure, guests are ushered through a sweeping diamond faceted façade to reach an abstract garden with 12 oversized cabanas, water features, and flower sculptures.

The interior space is defined by a white cocoon styled VIP area that overlooks the stage and a loft area with original wood truss ceiling exposed. To create softness in the space there are oversized suede panels next to motion sensitive LED screens. The backdrop to the faceted main bar is a 14′ fire sculpture. On the other side of the fire sculpture is The Patio, a secret back garden with suspended plants and 6′ topiary chandeliers. Intricate metal, lace-like accents, dark mahogany floors, and mosaic style LED bars complete Lure’s appeal.

Santa Monica Pub Crawl

It’s almost that time of year again — when the frost is on the vine, the stockings are hung by the chimney with care, and the silver bells are ringing. Ok, who are we fooling? There is no frost in LA, we all live in apartments, and our smart phone ringtones are the only things ringing, BUT each December we DO have the absolute-best-time-you-can-have-on-concrete-under-palm-trees with an ocean view.

The annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl is this weekend! Last year over 5,000 people crawled their hearts out to celebrate the season at the ever popular Santa Monica holiday event by filling the streets with joyous Santa’s, reindeer, elves, and raising enough food for 70,000 meals through the Westside Food Bank.

Celebrating the fourth consecutive year, over 25 bars and restaurants all over the city will come together to raise money for those in need during the holidays. Official starting locations include: SOUTH (Wilshire Route), 31Ten Lounge (Main Street), Rusty’s Surf Ranch (The Pier), and Wokcano (Promenade Route). With your official SMPC wristband you will receive drink and food specials at the participating locations and will automatically be entered into the pub crawl raffle with the chance to win a ton of great prizes.

Crawlers must Sign Up online, Pay a $10 donation/entrance fee, Choose a Route, and Collect their Wristband and Map at their official starting location.
