Take a one or a two hour tour through the hills of Griffith Park. From this 5,000 acre park in the heart of Los Angeles you will see the famous HOLLYWOOD sign, Griffith Observatory, and Downtown Los Angeles. You can make a reservation or just go on up and they’ll take you out.

Their ranch is available for group parties, special events, children’s birthday parties, location shoots, and romantic couple’s rides. One hour and two hour rides are available 365 days per year, rain or shine. Riders must be at the ranch and saddled up by 3 pm. Evening rides are by reservation only.

The infamous party that coined the phrase “Save Water, Spray Champagne” began in 2009 as a small daytime event at the former restaurant known as XIV, located on Sunset Boulevard. In 2011, when the restaurant closed its doors to the public, the XIV Summer Sessions party relocated to the Colony Nightclub, located in Hollywood.

Up to 3,500 patrons per screening bring blankets, pillows, picnic dinners, alcoholic beverages and candles and enjoy screenings under the stars, while a staff of 35 keep things running smoothly.

DJ’s play music before and after the screenings over a portable sound system, and guest DJ’s have included Carlos Niño, Andy Votel, Cut Chemist, the Gaslamp Killer, Dam-Funk, Peanut Butter Wolf and members of the Numero Group and Dublab collectives.

Cemetery screenings are held very Saturday all summer long! It’s fun to hang out, picnic, and watch fun, old movies outside under the stars with hundreds of others doing just the same.

Award-Winning Arts and Crafts

More than 250 artists and crafters from across the nation showcase their original works with a festive array of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, children’s toys, accessories, photography, textiles, outdoor furniture, jewelry, and more. The fun is in the discovery and the chance to visit with the artists and also get items personalized for that special someone. Nestled amidst the booths, youngsters will enjoy the new “Kids Interactive Berry Craft Patch” where they can make and take crafts and enter to win prizes.

Strawberryland for Kids

Kids rule in this magical oasis where all activities are included in the admission price. Youngsters won’t want to miss the free rides, bungee bounce, climbing wall, berry go whirl, mini train, and more. Everyone’s berry best friend, Strawberry Shortcake is the official reigning princess of Strawberryland For Kids, greeting her pals and giving hugs to friends.

Jam-packed with all things berry, this tented oasis brings strawberries straight from the field to you with exhibits, celebrity cooking demonstrations, and engaging presentations. Saturday, the strawberry smack down gets underway when finalists from the popular “Berry Blast Off” recipe contest prepare their dishes in a quest for the grand prize holiday cruise vacation. Ongoing festivities throughout the day add to the Festival experience.

Green Scene

Offering some fun eco-wise ways to be kinder on the environment this haven for all things green boasts interactive displays that help our planet. Check out the centrally located area housing displays for FOOD Share, Coca-Cola, and other green-minded organizations. In 2004 the California Strawberry Festival received the “Waste Watch” award for its sustainable “green” event practices with recycling and operational priorities. The 2012 “Green” results: 30,000 people took advantage of the free park ‘n’ ride shuttle to get to the Festival, 1,769 pounds of food was donated to FOOD Share, and 7.96 tons of materials were recycled and diverted from landfills.

Kids Care Zone

Located within Strawberryland For Kids and designed with parents in mind, this helpful area features a nursing station, a baby changing area, and also serves as “Lost and Found” for kids and items.

The ranch became the place where Will Rogers could relax with his family and friends, pursuing his favorite pastimes of riding and roping. At his untimely death in a plane crash in 1935, Will Rogers’ ranch consisted of a 31-room ranch house, a stable, corrals, riding ring, roping arena, polo field, golf course, and hiking trails. When his widow, Betty, died in 1944, the ranch became a state park.

Ranch House Tours

Park staff offer tours of the Ranch House and grounds. However, you and your family can enjoy many features of the Park on your own. Download the Self-Guided Ranch Tour Card. Tours run Thursdays and Fridays, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, on the top of the hour. No tours Monday through Wednesday. School group tours and special group tours run Thursday and Fridays at 10:00 am.

Equestrian Activities

The Will Rogers Polo Club plays polo every weekend from April to October. Riding Lessons are available on Monday through Saturday; see their Horseback Riding Lessons Information Page. Equestrians are welcome to bring their horses to the park for day-use to enjoy the riding and roping arena, Sarah’s Point, and the trail to Inspiration Point.

Horseback Riding

Will Rogers Trail Rides provide guided trail rides on safe, reliable horses on the beautiful trails of Will Rogers State Historic Park. You will experience the park in the way Will Rogers used to love to experience it, on horseback. Their wranglers are experienced and safety oriented, so you can relax and enjoy the trails of one of the most beloved parks in Los Angeles. Will Rogers guided trail rides are available every day except Mondays. Tuesday through Fridays you can book a private guided ride by calling (310) 662-3707 or go online for more information.

Hiking Trails

Hikers can enjoy a moderate 3-mile loop to Inspiration Point. Adventurous hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians can tackle the Backbone Trail into the Santa Monica Mountains, which can take you all the way to Point Mugu.

Activities at the Park

The Park is undergoing a major historic renovation project that will restore the landscape to its appearance during Will Rogers’ time. In the past two years, the Department has restored the ranch house and completed significant portions of the landscape restoration program. Over the next several years, the Department will be restoring the historic structures and relocating the maintenance facilities away from the historic zone. Details of the restoration program may be found in the Historic Landscape Management Plan.

Visitor Center

The Visitor Center is open to the public after a major renovation and has new exhibits. The Gift Store in the Visitor Center contains Will Rogers books, Will Rogers DVD’s, and Will Rogers radio broadcasts. It also carries polo mallets and polo balls and a fine line of Indian Jewelry. Gift Store Hours are Thursday – Sunday 10:30 am – 5:30 pm.

LEGOLAND California Resort has a lot that’s new to make your visit the most memorable ever. The Resort features more than 60 rides, shows, and attractions, including the new LEGO Star Wars Miniland Expansion and the world’s first LEGOLAND Water Park with fun slides and a lazy river where you can build your own LEGO themed raft. The Sunset Strip Market was developed by a committee of dedicated business owners and residents. Members of the committee include Nick Mathers (owner, the Eveleigh), David Vialli (general manager, The Standard, Hollywood), Bruce Silberman (owner, Allied Parking) and Nic Adler (owner, The Roxy Theatre). Diana Rodgers, a respected leader in community farmers’ markets, curated the certified farmers and vendors. Steve Portigiani created the site map and plan.

The community spirit of the market also extends to the entertainment stage, which showcases local artists and features live music performances each week.

The Sunset Strip Market is happy to provide an enhanced farm-to-table dining experience within the outdoor space. Throughout the year, the market partners with various California wineries and breweries to showcase their product, which will be paired with market fresh food offerings. Guests ages 21 and older may enjoy tastings or pair their drink with a full meal or other fare available at the market.

If you don’t want to carry your produce with you while you shop or enjoy dinner at one of The Sunset Strip’s many establishments, then let them hold them for you. The “Veggie Valet” station is located at the info booth, near the Market’s west entrance. Suggested donation is $1 per bag. Please note that all bags must be picked up by Market closing time: 10:00 p.m. While all bags will be stored in a safe area, they are not responsible for any loss. Refrigeration is not provided.

The market hosts various entertainment each week, from live performers to outdoor games. So bring your friends and family to this community gathering for healthy eats and refreshing drinks.
