The movie exposing the stark reality of such crucial issues facing our world today such as; the underground black market trade of endangered species, puppy mills, poaching, animal abuse and neglect, the fur industry, circuses, seal clubbing, horse slaughter, the palm oil industry, shark finning, the pet industry and so on. Give Me Shelter is about the people who dedicate their lives every day to help raise awareness for these important issues and who also rescue, rehabilitate, and care for these animals while facing their own struggles to support their passion for animals. Give Me Shelter has the capability of changing the lives of a vast array of species around the world whose issues otherwise would not be exposed so we can live in peace with all of God’s creatures.

Every fall, thousands of compassionate people gather to raise funds and change hearts for farm animals through the Walk for Farm Animals, a series of non-competitive walking events held each year in cities across the United States and Canada. Others participate virtually through our “Sleep In for Farm Animals.” Walkers raise vital funds for Farm Sanctuary’s life-saving work and promote kindness toward animals. The Walk for Farm Animals is a positive way to speak out on behalf of animals who cannot speak for themselves and make a real difference in their lives.

When you visit Farm Sanctuary’s Animal Acres shelter, you’ll know right away that it is a special place. Their sanctuaries are home to rescued cows, pigs, turkeys, and other farm animals — and each has a special story. Their stories of struggle and survival, against all odds, give the public insight into the realities farm animals face in the modern factory farming industry, but also introduce us to inspiring individuals through their heartwarming tales.

Animals who began their lives abused and neglected now spend their days digging in the dirt, basking in the sun, and napping in the straw. Each animal is given the freedom and attention needed not only to recover but to thrive.
