No need for a passport, nor a 12-hour flight to enjoy the romance of a Parisian night… Get ready for an evening of feathers, a traditional French cancan, and glitz à la mode de Paris!

Following the tradition of the legendary Moulin Rouge in Paris, Cabaret Versatile is the ONLY authentic French cabaret troupe in California. With singers, dancers, acrobats or magicians, let them take you for a spin in their unique world! Cabaret Versatile received the Award for Best Cabaret and Variety and was nominated for Best International show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2012.

While the contemporary American cabaret came into being in the 1970’s, its tradition reaches back more than a hundred years. The first Rodolphe Salis’ “Cabaret Artistique”, later renamd “Le Chat Noir” (The Black Cat), opened in Francein 1881, in the parisian district of Monmartre.

The famous Cancan, first appeared in the 1830’s working class ballrooms in Paris. The Cancan, meaning “tittle-tattle” or “scandal” was perceived as a scandalous dance and for a time, the French authorities attempted to repress it. Occasionally people dancing the cancan were arrested but it was never officially banned.
