Thousands are expected to attend Pasadena’s largest culinary celebration The Taste of South Lake. Guests can enjoy culinary delights from over 25 South Lake Avenue restaurants, live cooking demos from the area’s most talented chefs, music performances from internationally known bands, an interactive vendor village, and much more!

Now in its seventh year, the Taste of South Lake offers guests an opportunity to indulge in an adventure of taste, sampling popular South Lake Pasadena restaurants. From the award-winning American cuisine of Pie ‘n Burger to Italian from Celestino Ristorante & Bar to SanSai Japanese, Taste of South Lake offers something for everyone. The free and outdoor festival features a special live cooking demonstration stage with such famed chefs as PBS’s Cathlyn Choi cooking up authentic Korean fare and “The Queen of Spice” Alejandra Schrader who has been featured on such popular shows as Master Chef and Food Fighters. This year, The Taste of South Lake also honors chefs cooking healthy plant-based cuisine by featuring two top vegan chefs, RG Enriquez of Astig Vegan and Chef Yvonne Ardestani, creator of “My Eclectic Kitchen” cookbook and app.

Front Porch Cinema

Front Porch Cinema, a favorite for movie-lovers, is back on the Santa Monica Pier with FREE Friday night films under the stars! Presented by LA’s premier outdoor movie event producers, Eat|See|Hear, Front Porch Cinema will show family-friendly “Big Hero 6” on October 9, “The Imitation Game” on October 16, “Guardians of the Galaxy” on October 23, and Ghostbusters on October 30 on a giant inflatable screen. Guests can unwind on old-timey chairs, relax and enjoy some fan-favorite films, new and old.

Front Porch Cinema will also feature the “Cinema Lounge” starting at 6:00 pm so guests can come early to enjoy movie-themed cocktails and small bites to complement the films.

Burbank Beer Festival

This October, an inaugural beer tasting and fall street fair will take over the streets of Downtown Burbank. The Burbank Beer Festival is a first of its kind; a massive celebration of craft beer that will canvas several blocks at the heart of Downtown Burbank, transforming San Fernando Boulevard into an outdoor street festival. This exciting event will showcase over 85 ice-cold craft beers on tap, live musical performances, vendors, and more!

Burbank Beer Festival will feature two sessions of craft beer sampling:12:00 – 3:00 pm or 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Each session will showcase both local and out of state craft breweries. Entertainment will include live musical performances on the main stage throughout the day.

Ventura Harvest Festival Original Art & Craft Show

Celebrating the fall season with a cornucopia of top artists and crafters, the Ventura Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show returns to Seaside Park at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, featuring an irresistible presentation of activities and adventure for a complete entertainment and shopping experience.

Free admission goes to the first 100 attendees each day and all patrons who bring non-perishables for donation to Food Share will receive $2 off on their ticket. With more than 24,000 hand-made creations, live entertainment, a Kidzone with a pumpkin patch, crafting demonstrations, contests, and engaging festivities, there is something happening for everyone.

Between original art pieces, stunning jewelry, ceramics, blown glass, woodcarvings, clothing and accessories, fall décor, ornaments, furniture, and more, the hardest part is deciding what you can’t live without. Patrons can visit with the artists, get items personalized, and even learn some creative ideas from crafting demonstrations.

Barnsdall Art Park’s Outdoor Movie Night Series

Barnsdall Art Park’s famed fundraising Outdoor Movie Night Series is kicking off just in time for fall September through October for a seven-week run. Join the festivities on the lush west lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed Hollyhock House with surprise guests introducing the movies. Curated by The Black List, a trailblazing online networking community for the film industry, and Trailers from Hell, a premier platform for trailers from world-renowned contemporary filmmakers, all are invited to celebrate a season of American Pop-themed movies.

Enjoy a curated selection of wines, courtesy of Dark Horse Wines as well as a selection of LA’s finest food trucks. Musical entertainment will be provided by D.J. youNGNoon from 5:30 pm till dusk with the movies (on a high-resolution screen with superior surround sound) starting at sundown—7:30 pm.

Additionally, each film will be introduced by special guests including John Landis and Jessica Bendinger. Support the People’s Park with this popular family-friendly event that has raised over a half a million dollars to support the Park’s capital projects, art programs, historic renovations and gallery exhibitions over the last six years.

Free parking is available at the top and bottom of Barnsdall Art Park. Handicap parking is available at the top. Once the Barnsdall lots are full (usually by 6pm), additional parking is available at the Kaiser Hospital lot, which you can enter on Edgemont St. just east of the park.
