Streets in Downtown Burbank will be packed with special effects artists, street painters, and more than 100 established artists from disciplines such as painting, photography, and sculpture at the Downtown Burbank Art Festival. The festival will take place outdoors on four blocks of San Fernando Boulevard between Angeleno Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard. The Festival is free and open to the public.

As part of the festival, the Burbank-based Creative Talent Network will present the CTN Road Trip, an event devoted to animation and visual EFX artists from feature films, video games and television. Happening on San Fernando Boulevard between Olive Avenue and Angeleno, patrons will have the opportunity to purchase artwork and interact with the artists, whose contributions are found among the highest grossing animation films of all time.

Also scheduled are live art demonstrations, panel discussions with top Industry artists and art directors, portfolio reviews, and breakfast with the pros presented in collaboration with Brainstorm. Guest speakers include talent from Marvel Studios, Pixar, Insomniac Games, and many more.

The Gamble House

The Gamble House in Pasadena is an outstanding example of American Arts and Crafts style architecture. The house and furnishings were designed by architects Charles and Henry Greene in 1908 for David and Mary Gamble of the Procter & Gamble Company.

The house, designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978, is owned by the City of Pasadena and operated by the University of Southern California.

One-hour docent-led tours are available to the public Thursday-Sunday. Tours begin at noon with the last tour beginning at 3:00 p.m. A picnic opportunity awaits every week on Brown-Bag Tuesdays. Enjoy your lunch on the terrace and take a docent-led 20-minute tour at 12:15 or 12:45 pm. Docent-led tours are the only way to gain access to the interior of the house. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Combine more than 24,000 “handmade in America” creations with live entertainment, contests, and a Kidzone, for the “seasonal shoppertunity” of the Harvest Festival® Original Art & Craft Show, coming to the Anaheim Convention Center. The festive fall atmosphere makes for an exciting discovery of ceramics, paintings, jewelry, blown glass, hand-woven clothing photography, candles, woodwork, garden designs, antique treasures, specialty foods, children’s accessories, sculptures, ornaments and more. Kids’ fun time begins with strolling performers, and the interactive Kidzone hosted by Macaroni Kid Irvine, including the new Home Depot “build it” center.

Fall selection

Contests and crafting demonstrations add to the festivities the whole family can enjoy. Visiting with the artists and personalizing items makes the day even more memorable. Benefactors include Knots of Love and the Orange County Food Bank. Bring canned goods for donation and get $2 off admission. Kids 12 & under are FREE, and tickets are good for the entire weekend so you can return for more.

Farm Tour

It’s Farm Tour season! Pack a picnic and join Farm Fresh To You at their Bardsdale farm for a harvest activity, attend a Farm Talk with Thaddeus, pick up some fresh fruits and veggies from their market stand, and take part in an arts and crafts activity.
