Forks Over Knives and The Engine 2 Diet present the second Farms 2 Forks Weekend event of the season, with an amazing immersion in sunny southern California. The state motto of California is Eureka, which translates from Greek into “I have found it.” We hope that you will join us and experience many “Eureka” moments as you learn how to take control of your health through diet and nutrition.

Farms-2-Forks

Farms 2 Forks Weekend is comprised of two nights and two days brimming with compelling lectures, informative food-demonstrations and delicious, plant-strong comfort food. These weekends are designed to give you what most people have never received: a profound, in-depth education about the power of health-promoting foods and the reality of what health-harming food can do. Most of us eat the way we do because it’s what we have always known. We typically eat what our parents ate, or something close to it. Food is an incredibly important part of our emotional lives, to say nothing of the role it plays within our families and among friends. We gather around a table of food at dinner with our partner and/or children, at holidays with our extended family and at restaurants with our friends, surrounded by still more folks from our communities. But the powerful impact that our daily meals has on our long-term health is usually not discussed—or even known—by most of us.

In addition to their amazing group of world-class speakers, the weekend will feature five delicious Engine 2 Diet meals. New for their 2013 season, they are kicking off the weekend with a Friday meet and greet, sumptuous E2 dinner, and two thought-provoking opening lectures, so that you can get more out of your experience  – and more time to interact with your fellow participants.

This contemporary hotel features a gorgeous atrium, pool, and lovely city views, and is a short distance away from Disneyland Resort. The learning will occur in the Grand Ballroom, where you can expect spacious seating, incredible acoustics, easy access to restrooms, and a comfortable temperature all weekend long.

Make your Disneyland Resort experience even happier with a visit to the newly expanded and reimagined Disney California Adventure Park. Disney stories and Disney Characters bring the California dream to life through amazing attractions, entertainment, and dining. With two brand new lands — Cars Land and Buena Vista Street — Disney California Adventure Park is ready to shine like never before!

Cruise into the newest land at the Disneyland Resort. Cars Land is an incredible 12-acre expansion inspired by the Disney•Pixar movie Cars. Get your engines running for three brand-new attractions: Radiator Springs Racers, Luigi’s Flying Tires and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree. After your victory lap, stop in for a refill at Flo’s V8 Café, Cozy Cone Motel and Fillmore’s Taste-In.

From the magnificent Pan-Pacific Auditorium-inspired Main Entrance gates to the soaring recreation of the Carthay Circle Theatre, Buena Vista Street is a bustling boulevard overflowing with shopping, dining, entertainment and the spirit of optimism and opportunity that Walt Disney discovered in Los Angeles when he stepped off the train in 1923.

Rocket to a remote desert landing strip where daring men and women design, test, and fly innovative aircraft with the goal of breaking the sound barrier at Condor Flats. Journey back to an age when the impossible suddenly felt possible and once insurmountable barriers were no match for a pioneering spirit and a little imagination.

Journey to a land filled with tall evergreen trees, roaring rapids, rugged mountains, and an adventure around every corner. Grizzly Peak pays homage to the wonders of nature, the majesty of the great outdoors and the pioneering spirit of the men and women who explored California’s natural landscape — and sought to preserve its beauty through the creation of the national parks in the early 20th century.

Welcome to Hollywood Land, where the Golden Age of Hollywood and the magic of Disney movies are celebrated with attractions, shows, and entertainment that conjure the romance, glamour, and sentimentality of the silver screen. Walk down Hollywood Boulevard, visit a backlot of Hollywood Studios and take a dark turn down Sunset Boulevard — anchored by the ominous Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Shrink down to the size of an insect and become an honorary bug at this whimsical land inspired by the Disney Pixar movie A Bug’s Life. Hop aboard Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train, spin aboard Flik’s Flyers or meet some tiny new friends at the 3D extravaganza. It’s Tough to Be a Bug! Little ones will find plenty of places to explore and play, including Princess Dot Puddle Park.

Escape to a waterside haven with diverse restaurant options, an open-aired dining area, refreshing California wines and sweet treats at the Pacific Wharf. Enjoy a delicious meal at Wine Country Trattoria, Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, Lucky Fortune Cookery, and Pacific Wharf Café. Afterwards, satisfy your sweet tooth at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop or peek into the future of Disney Parks at Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar.

Last but not least, discover an exciting land filled with boardwalk thrills and Disney characters at Paradise Pier. Journey beneath the waves on The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, zoom above the pier on California Screamin’, play the game that’s a ride on Toy Story Mania! and learn to fly at Goofy’s Sky School. After the sun sets, Paradise Bay springs to life with music, light and magic at the World of Color nighttime water spectacular.
