Orangetheory Fitness, the energizing and fast-growing national fitness studio, announced its official grand opening in downtown Santa Monica on Friday, March 27. Hailed by The New York Times as “the best one-hour workout in the country” and featured in Men’s Health’s “Best 2015 Gyms,” Orangetheory offers total body, heart-rate monitored workouts that have helped tens of thousands of members lose weight, get toned and meet fitness goals in a short amount of time.

Orangetheory provides 60-minute, five-zone, heart-rate monitored interval training led by skilled personal trainers. Participants use a variety of equipment, including treadmills, rowing machines, TRX® suspension training and free weights, burning an average of 500 to 800 calories when combining the workout with the “after burn” – an increased metabolic rate for 24 to 36 hours after the workout. The result is the Orange Effect – increased muscle endurance, strength and power, and if desired, tremendous weight loss.

Following the overwhelming success of the Santa Monica Pier Paddleboard Race & Ocean Festival and weekly ROGA (free running + yoga classes), Santa Monica locals demanded another unique fitness program on the Pier, and the Hulk and his family delivered. Hey There Muscles was designed by the Ferrigno family and their team of dietitians and workout gurus to be a 360-health experience from mind to muscle.

The classes are a free way to shake off a Friday night and discover muscles that have been hiding, perhaps for years. Each week features a different acclaimed FerrignoFIT instructor in a judgement-free environment for all levels. The series is based on the full 12-week Incredibly Fit by FerrignoFIT program, which is a comprehensive fitness program that offers personalized meal plans, workouts, recipes, lifestyle tips, and more.
