The Autry Farmers Market

September 28, 2012 — 1 Comment

Griffith Park hosts a weekly farmers market at the Autry National Center, known for its museum of the American West. The Autry Farmers Market combines a pretty amazing piece of L.A. landscape and supports local growers and vendors. This is a great place to score some good food and local history.

Food vendors such as Milkman Artisan Cheeses, Homeboy Bakery, Novy Ranch, Cobblermania, and Longshot Espresso will offer gourmet cheeses, hummus, honey, almond butter, coffee, and more. Heirloom LA, Global Soul, and the Crepe Kitchen will be there with their prepared foods. Food trucks also run the length of the market, and the museum’s cafe is open for brunch and mimosas.

L.A. City Farm brings the farm to you. They create strong and entertaining community based farmers markets events for families to enjoy year round.  Afterwards, play pioneer on the trails of Griffith Park or mosey on over to the Autry museum; doors open at 10 am on Saturdays for market shoppers.

L.A. City Farm is a California not-for-profit company. Their goal is to make locally farmed organic produce and prepared foods more easily available to Southern Californian communities. Supporting local farmers encourages a healthier quality of life, as well as a more sustainable culture. At L.A. City Farm they strive to bring the farm to you. Where ever you work, live, or play, there’s always room to make sure that healthier, organic food is just a few steps away.
