The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride has become an Iconic Hollywood tradition that remains unparalleled and unmatched. This year, the extended trail is back bringing an entirely new twenty-five (25) minute experience to those who think they’ve “seen it all.” Armies of demonic forces and dark presences litter the grounds and are frantic to strike at their favorite “hayriders.” This year’s sets are truly spectacular as the creative team takes on new special effects challenges not yet done in the live haunted attraction realm that will make the most unique haunted attraction in LA a show stopping vision of Haunt, Creep, and Bone Chill.

The gibbering of mad men echo through the twisting halls of this insane asylum turned Temple to the Apocalypse. The Revelation scriptures scribbled on the walls, etched in deep by broken and bloodied fingernails. With the pages of Mystics in the hands of Psychotics, the inmates have crowned themselves Unholy Vessels of the great Horsemen, and sit in judgment of your flesh in the bowels of their House. They themselves, “The Horsemen” will be there in character, each room of their house embodying the four elemental apocalyptic terrors: Pestilence, War, Famine, and Death. Stand before them in judgement.

Don’t miss what FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC, MTV, G4, E, & Access Hollywood, have called “Terrifying and Awesome,” and Dread Central called “one of the most amazing spectacles I’ve ever seen in all my years of attending haunts.”

Blackout Elements

October 2, 2013 — Leave a comment

Blackout Elements takes its inspiration from the four basic elements (earth, water, air, fire) and includes indoor exterior environments, unusual tasks, and encounters with both odd and incredibly frightening, characters. The scares are still physical and psychological, but the experience feels less like an abduction and more like a journey through a ‘Narnia’ or ‘Wonderland’-like fantasy world gone terribly, terribly wrong.

Over the years Blackout Elements has developed a cult following for its extreme brand of immersive horror theater. Creators Josh Randall and Kristjan Thorgeirsson are infamous for obliterating the traditional rules and limitations of haunted attractions and bending the genre to encompass darker, more extreme, scare tactics.

The interactive set has multiple courses and tormentors, so no two experiences are the same. Climb, crawl, and feeling your way through paths obscured by fog or darkness. Forked paths require a choice be made and create the illusion of being in control of your fate. The illusion of having control over how you explore the haunt makes the experience intensely personal and absolutely exhilarating. The experience is a barrage of horror and phobia scenarios capable of triggering a wide range of emotions.

The Purge: Fear The Night

September 30, 2013 — 2 Comments

This fall, enter the chaos of The Purge: Fear The Night, where all crime is legal for one night each year. Audience members inhabit this dystopian world for over two hours, embarking on their own discovery of six floors and 70,000 square feet of immersive horror-theater!

Fear the Night

Blumhouse Productions, the multi-media production company behind highly successful and terrifying movies like the Paranormal Activity franchise, Sinister, Insidious, and The Purge, will once again take over the historic Variety Arts Theater in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, introducing an all-new, immersive live experience for the Halloween season.

Last year, the theater was home to The Blumhouse of Horrors, a haunted house created by producer Jason Blum’s film-production team that attracted rave reviews and capacity crowds. This year Blumhouse invites horror fans to experience The Purge: Fear The Night, inspired by the back story to the feature film. Jason warns audiences, “You don’t watch this story, it happens to you, and you’ll have the chance to wander and explore through it all on your own. Once you go inside, everything you do will have consequences, whether you like them or not.”

In this new type of horror-theater, guests become “delegates” to the annual convention of the New Founding Fathers, the dystopian governing party of a near-future America, in which all crime is legal once a year for 12 hours. To create The Purge: Fear The Night Blum has teamed with directors Josh Randall and Kristjan Thor, founders and creators of the phenomenally successful Blackout haunted house in New York and Los Angeles.

Once delegates are inside, the immersive horror-theater experience begins in the grand theater of the New Founding Fathers Headquarters. There, they will participate in the annual Founder’s Convention – which is held each year on Purge Night. But the visiting delegates will quickly discover that not all Americans believe in the Purge, and that the intense opposition can have frightening, even deadly, consequences. As they explore, delegates may find themselves complicit in the shocking acts undertaken by a warped government … directly threatened by hostile dissenters … or intrigued by the mysterious lives of elected officials. With every step, they will be drawn deeper into the New Founding Fathers Headquarters.

Politicians, patriots, dissidents, and traitors will directly engage delegates, who will be encouraged to interact with their surroundings and take their own time discovering the long-hidden, carefully guarded secrets of Purge Night and the New Founding Fathers of America.
