Front Porch Cinema, a favorite for movie-lovers, is back on the Santa Monica Pier with FREE Friday night films under the stars! Presented by LA’s premier outdoor movie event producers, Eat|See|Hear, Front Porch Cinema will show family-friendly “Big Hero 6” on October 9, “The Imitation Game” on October 16, “Guardians of the Galaxy” on October 23, and Ghostbusters on October 30 on a giant inflatable screen. Guests can unwind on old-timey chairs, relax and enjoy some fan-favorite films, new and old.

Front Porch Cinema will also feature the “Cinema Lounge” starting at 6:00 pm so guests can come early to enjoy movie-themed cocktails and small bites to complement the films.

Barnsdall Art Park’s famed fundraising Outdoor Movie Night Series is kicking off just in time for fall September through October for a seven-week run. Join the festivities on the lush west lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed Hollyhock House with surprise guests introducing the movies. Curated by The Black List, a trailblazing online networking community for the film industry, and Trailers from Hell, a premier platform for trailers from world-renowned contemporary filmmakers, all are invited to celebrate a season of American Pop-themed movies.

Enjoy a curated selection of wines, courtesy of Dark Horse Wines as well as a selection of LA’s finest food trucks. Musical entertainment will be provided by D.J. youNGNoon from 5:30 pm till dusk with the movies (on a high-resolution screen with superior surround sound) starting at sundown—7:30 pm.

Additionally, each film will be introduced by special guests including John Landis and Jessica Bendinger. Support the People’s Park with this popular family-friendly event that has raised over a half a million dollars to support the Park’s capital projects, art programs, historic renovations and gallery exhibitions over the last six years.

Free parking is available at the top and bottom of Barnsdall Art Park. Handicap parking is available at the top. Once the Barnsdall lots are full (usually by 6pm), additional parking is available at the Kaiser Hospital lot, which you can enter on Edgemont St. just east of the park.

EatISeeIHear, LA’s premier outdoor movie, food truck, and live music event series, closes summer 2015 with an outdoor screening of the cult classic ‘Princess Bride.’ The film variety brings something for everyone from Tarantino fans to comedy lovers.

The events offer attendees the unmatched EatISeeIHear experience with live music, food trucks, and a dog-friendly, lounge-style environment.

A limited amount of “Fashionably Late” seats will also be available online for $20, which are premium reserved seats in a desirable area of the venue, courtesy of Air New Zealand. A limited amount of passes will also be available for $14 at the door (cash or credit card). Parking will vary from venue to venue so guests are encouraged to check the event website for specific parking info prior to each event.

South Lake Business Association presents the 3rd Annual Rooftop Cinema Night Series, a complimentary movie series. Thousands are expected to enjoy celebrated fantasy action blockbusters Avatar (September 12) and Tron: Legacy (September 26) in a unique open-air setting.

Guests are encouraged to arrive by 6:00 pm to enjoy the resident DJ and family-friendly activities such as neon airbrush artists, glitter tattoos, and ping pong. Rancho Las Lomas has starting a new Friday Night Movie Series. Gates will open before the movie for you to wonder the grounds and zoo. They will have a full bar with wine and beer buckets available for purchase. Movie will start at sundown. Bring a low back chair, blanket, and picnic things.

Street Food Cinema presents Raiders of the Lost Ark! In this classic film, archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the US government to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis. Farspeaker is a Los Angeles based band that blends classic and alternative rock. Fronted by Henry Thomas, a veteran of the Texas music scene, for the last six years Farspeaker has won over a loyal fan base. Influenced by bands such as The Replacements, Big Star and Wilco, the group brings a welcome return to adult indie rock. Their first album is due for release in 2015. Farspeaker are Henry Thomas, Max Biscoe, Andrew Burlinson, Corey Roederer and Kerry Harris.

Heritage Square Museum has a lot to offer during the summer! Saturday, June 27 and July 25 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm there will be an open gardening day in their Ford Kitchen Garden. Stop by to help them weed, plant, and prepare their garden. Tools will be provided. Please remember to dress appropriately for working in a garden. Long sleeves, a hat, and closed toed shoes are recommended.

Victor Ian Elan will once again be hosting his Soirees Mystique in the Perry Mansion on July 11 with one show at 7:00 pm and the second at 9:00 pm. Tickets for the two shows can be purchased here. Museum members receive a discount on the ticket prices. Mark you calendars because their Silent & Classic Movie Nights are coming Saturday, August 15 and 22 at 7:30 pm. Join as they project films onto the side of their boxcar. Bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic to enjoy a movie under the stars. Admission is free for members and $10 for the general public. Films TBA.

Volunteers are a huge part of Heritage Square and they can always use more. Becoming a volunteer is one of the most important ways you can support the museum. In particular this session, they are looking for people who are interested in becoming tour guides. Their volunteer training process is a five session course held on Saturday mornings from August 1 to August 29 beginning at 10:00 am. The course will teach you everything you need to know to begin introducing guests to the museum and our structures.
