Symbiosis Gathering intends to facilitate peak experiences through a synaesthesia of art, music, transformational learning, and sustainable living integrated into an unparalleled extravaganza of fun beneath the starry skies.
The organization was founded on strong principles of environmental consciousness and ecological sustainability and each event has continued to advance this vision through the implementation of both time-tested and innovative eco-action initiatives.
They seek to provide a space for the fusion of aesthetics, sound, and natural living, in an atmosphere of interactive co-creation so we may share in moments that are transformative and inspiring, based in a deep respect for our community and environment.
Woodward Reservoir is an area of outstanding natural beauty, a peninsula surrounded on 3 sides by a crystal clear swimming lake, with incredible shoreline camping. Bring floating toys! Watch epic sunrises and sunsets from four lakeside dance floors. This venue is gonna blow you away!
Symbiosis Academy
Symbiosis welcomes you to a proud presentation of workshops, playshops, danceshops, and much, much more! This year, Symbiosis Academy will focus on practical methods of transforming the earth, our bodies and food sources, and creating sustenance in ways that are in harmony with the body of life.
Symbiosis is honored to welcome powerful speakers with messages for manifesting real visions through positive actions. Workshops will include yogis, dance instructors, and all sorts of inspiring individuals who can move your body, mind, and spirit. They also have a special addition to this years offerings, not one, but two improv troupes featured at Chicago’s Second City! So come prepared to laugh, learn, and lean into the future together!
Art
Intuitions, inspirations, and the ineffable all emerge into existence through thoughts, ideas, and art. Before airplanes and helicopters, Leonardo da Vinci sketched all sorts of flying contraptions that, while not functional, paved the way for new thinkers to improve, surpass, and succeed. At times art is not understood by contemporaries while in hindsight it can become evident that the manifestations of those who came before us intimated and imagined the world which becomes.
Symbiosis is proud to support and gather artist, sculptors, and creators of all kinds to bend our imaginations and cross the boundaries of what we believe is possible…because we understand ourselves as caretakers of the world for the generations that will follow in our footsteps.
Ceremony
Ceremony is a gift. It opens, it closes, it sustains, it greets, it lays to rest. Ceremony opens our eyes to the world which we see every day and reminds us of the world which we may not remember. Ceremony need not be solemn, nor sad, nor jovial, nor full of foof, but ceremony must be respected.
Our ancestors who walked the earth long before us used ceremony to remind them of the past, which bound them to the present and set the stage for our future. Symbiosis holds ceremony dear to their heart and they hope that you will join them in celebration and appreciation of this great communal gift.
Healing
We all need healing at moments in our lives and for this Gathering they’d like to bring it to the forefront. Through body and energy work, workshops and daydreaming, communication with friends and strangers, dancing, yoga, breathing, and singing, healing is an essential part of life and an essential part of the Gathering. Healing is living and supporting life around us, and we are here with ten thousand arms!

There will be many yoga instructors at the gathering.

Their Marketplace features yummy organic food and their Permaculture course will be an amazing experience for all who can attend!
Satya Yuga
Somewhere between light and darkness between mortal and deity is a waking dream known as Satya Yuga. The Yuga of truth will play host to raw, unbridled performance, spoken word, acoustic and devotional music, and occasional ranting by mad geniuses….
Psychedelic Friendship Bingo
A fortunate thing happened one day on a trip to the akashic record. A portal to the universal source of gameshow energy was bottled, aged, and opened up for you to drink in the delights of Bingo in the psychedelic goodness it was meant for. Come share in joy but do not mess with Bingo or you will face the condiments!
