Make the ocean your treadmill! Learn to row like a pro. Experience the limitless benefits of slide seat open water rowing at the Whitehall Spirit Rowing Club. Leave the smog behind and breathe fresh ocean air while burning up to 800 calories an hour. Exercise all of the major muscles in your body without any pounding or stress on your joints!

Open water rowing in a sleek stable Whitehall Spirit sculling boat is a life changing experience. The Whitehall Spirit Rowing Club of Marina del Rey lets everyone from those with no experience to expert rowers go slide seat rowing in either a single or double position sculling boat. Once a member you simply reserve and book your boat online with just your name and password. Later, down at the club docks the attendant has your boat ready for you when you arrive to head out for your personal rowing experience.

Both legs driving together power the slide seat with little to no stress on the knees and joints. The slide seat row stroke uses up to 90% of the body’s muscles, smoothly, and gently. Breathe fresh clean air as lightweight carbon fiber sculling oars drive you along.

Master of your personal water universe. Row by yourself. Row with friends. Join a group row, a fitness row, or a tour of Marina del Rey. Learn about the yachts both modern and historic. See the wildlife. Get used to miles of rowing available in the largest man made marina on the Westcoast while rowing in a Whitehall Spirit sculling boat that is also known as the bicycle of the sea.
