Mindshare LA presents their 6th annual Mindshare Masquerade returning to downtown Los Angeles with a full on explosion of music, entertainment, and masked mayhem! Talks will kick off the evening which will unfold into multiple areas of DJs, performers, contests and games, interactive art, and other silly business.

There will be two rooms of music, each outfitted with Funktion One and Turbo Sound by the OhmGuru with DJ Pumpkin headlining! Looking for something a little more down tempo? Come on into the Lounge of Horrors and let the tunes molest your ear drums as you drink a refreshing cocktail.

The Blacklight Main Stage with Altervision 3D will be morphing the main stage into a full on 3D Blacklight Experience with music so hot it will melt your brain until it dribbles down your spine. The Altervision 3D Blacklight Experience is an immersive art installation featuring fluorescent murals that come to life with incredible depth using special glasses. You might have seen it before… but have you ever seen it come alive with a DJ powered dance floor?

Harmonic Light storms events with a HUGE collection of lasers, swords, RGB Lights, star projectors, Computer-Controlled LED Wands, and other digital paint-brushes to create 100% un-edited long-exposure magic!

Galaxy Hooping specializes in bringing sparkle, lights, and even fire (when possible!) to events. Attendees of all skill levels will be able to learn from Ash, the force behind Galaxy. BYOHoop if you have one or use one of theirs!

Freakshow Photo brings props and backgrounds to shoot your portrait. Grab a high quality print for $5 to remember the fun you had when you’re old and trying to remember where all the time went.

Once again Mindshare LA welcomes Super Tall Paul who will be playing before and during the talks! Super Tall Paul has been a regular favorite at Mindshare for years, and won the 2013 title of National Looping Champion!

Wise Guys are back for more merry hijinks with a custom designed game for the Mindshare LA audience! Games with Cake? Pickpocket Junction? Strange Objects in Bags? Whatever it is, Greg will dress accordingly no doubt!

Mr. Events.

Mindshare LA is a forum which promotes community interaction and inspiration by curating monthly events, workshops, community discussions, and screenings. Over the years, Mindshare has become a mecca for a growing community of intellectuals, artists, scientists, and thought leaders across a multitude of disciplines. It is an energetic mix of open-minded people created to serve as a catalyst for sharing ideas and cultivating action. The community fosters innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration resulting in groundbreaking start-ups such as the uniquely charitable Tuxedo Tyrants. Mindshare has exposed LA audiences to some of the country’s brightest and most creative minds since 2006.

Mindshare’s main event is held every month and includes a tantalizing mix of eclectic short-form presentations. The decadent gathering combines quality intellectual ingredients with leading science, art, lifestyle, content, and games. Mindshare is not your typical party; they are intrigued by the transformational cross-pollination that arises from gathering individuals who might not otherwise interact.

This May Mindshare LA celebrates 50 months of consecutive mind bending events with a one-of-a-kind weekend conference gathering the top speakers, presenters, and entertainers in its history. Proud to have sparked inspiration among some of the liveliest minds in Los Angeles for over four years, the team is excited to bring back the thought leaders of LA for a weekend of enlightened debauchery and inspiration – this tagline creates a celebratory but mindful atmosphere leaving you inspired and energized. The theme of the conference is “What comes next…” sparking conversations about the future of science, technology, art, society, and the world. The event will conclude with an unveiling of the next steps for the Mindshare LA community and brand.

The brainchild of community organizer and culture curator Douglas Campbell (pictured below), Mindshare LA has grown from humble beginnings to become a cultural phenomena among both academic and artistic people looking to get inspired and meet new people. Douglas is also the founder of Syyn Labs, a creative collection that spun out from Mindshare LA and has been coined “The League of Extraordinary Nerds” by Fast Company Magazine.

“Mindshares ballooning popularity is emblematic of a generation steeped in chaos and an unabashed need for personal fulfillment. If you ever come to LA, come to Mindshare”
