The Los Angeles Theatre is our city’s most gorgeous and spectacular movie palace, a hidden gem rarely open to the public. Opened in 1931, the theatre is the most opulent ever imagined, with soaring ceilings, breath-taking chandeliers, gold leaf angels, and a cascading crystal fountain. Join for a magical and romantic evening as we watch Baz Luhrman’s electric adaptation of Shakespeare’s eternal classic Romeo and Juliet, starring Claire Danes and  Leonardo DiCaprio.

With dialogue from the Bard himself, this adaptation has the star-crossed lovers in a mythical amalgam of old world europe and modern gangsters in a lush setting of velvet drapery, bright flowers, glowing neon, and classical statuary. A haunting soundtrack, elaborate camera moves, and compelling performances make this one of the most inventive adaptations of this great work.

A full bar with mixologists, Dj-composer David Holmes spinning records and a cavernous theatre, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy the most breath-taking movie palace you’ll ever see!
