ICE At Santa Monica

December 13, 2013 — Leave a comment

Every holiday season, Downtown Santa Monica brings a little ice skating to the beachside community and transforms the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue into ICE at Santa Monica, a premier outdoor ice skating rink. The 8,000 square foot rink by the beach offers a little taste of winter without the bite.

Santa Monica Pub Crawl

December 7, 2012 — 1 Comment

It’s almost that time of year again — when the frost is on the vine, the stockings are hung by the chimney with care, and the silver bells are ringing. Ok, who are we fooling? There is no frost in LA, we all live in apartments, and our smart phone ringtones are the only things ringing, BUT each December we DO have the absolute-best-time-you-can-have-on-concrete-under-palm-trees with an ocean view.

The annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl is this weekend! Last year over 5,000 people crawled their hearts out to celebrate the season at the ever popular Santa Monica holiday event by filling the streets with joyous Santa’s, reindeer, elves, and raising enough food for 70,000 meals through the Westside Food Bank.

Celebrating the fourth consecutive year, over 25 bars and restaurants all over the city will come together to raise money for those in need during the holidays. Official starting locations include: SOUTH (Wilshire Route), 31Ten Lounge (Main Street), Rusty’s Surf Ranch (The Pier), and Wokcano (Promenade Route). With your official SMPC wristband you will receive drink and food specials at the participating locations and will automatically be entered into the pub crawl raffle with the chance to win a ton of great prizes.

Crawlers must Sign Up online, Pay a $10 donation/entrance fee, Choose a Route, and Collect their Wristband and Map at their official starting location.

Participating Bars

31Ten Lounge, Barney’s Beanery, Barcopa, Big Dean’s Ocean Front Café, Brittania Pub, Cabo Cantina, Circle Bar, Finn McCool’s, Harvelle’s, Joe’s Pizza, JP’s Pub, Main on Main, O’Brien’s Irish Pub on Main, O’Brien’s on Wilshire, Renee’s Courtyard Café, Rick’s Tavern, Rusty’s Surf Ranch, Sonny McLean’s Pub, South, The Charleston, V Lounge, West 4th and Jane, Wokcano, Yankee Doodles, Ye Old King’s Head

So, dust off those antlers, shine up those menorahs, and get ready for the 4th Annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl!

Smoke And Mirrors

November 9, 2012 — Leave a comment

With the help of Trix (a life-sized rabbit), The Oracle (a giant head) and Bessie Houdini, Albie Selznick takes you on a fantastical journey to face his deepest, darkest fears and become a Master Illusionist. Smoke and Mirrors is a mind-bending spooky/funny/heartfelt magic-act-with-a-story appropriate for humans 12 and up.

The magic show follows the story of actor/magician Albie Selznick who is a Level 6 Master Illusionist. Selznick takes you back to his childhood where his father died when he was nine and with his little stuffed rabbit Trix by his side, he would stay up late at night doing tricks for his mom. He desired his father’s approval and sought out his spirit, reaching out to the beyond, to the spirit world, to the dead … which was his prime reason for wanting to become a master illusionist in the first place. Selznick matures, but he never loses Trix.
