Attracting sellout crowds, from families to celebrities, the renowned Barnsdall Friday Night Wine Tastings—the Foundation’s signature fundraising event—returned to the hill this summer on Memorial Day and continues through Labor Day Weekend. Barnsdall Park hosts’ evenings of fine wine and art in the gardens of Frank Lloyd Wright’s newly restored architectural gem, Hollyhock House.

This summer, ongoing partner, Silverlake Wine, continues curating fine selections of boutique, small production, artisanal wines for park-goers as well as local gourmet cheese shop, Say Cheese. Art workshops for children, music by KCRW’s DJ Dan Wilcox and a host of specialty food trucks, also compliment this popular family-friendly event that has raised over $500K to support the Park’s capital projects, art programs, historic renovations and gallery exhibitions over the last six years.

7

At this beautiful spot overlooking the City, Barnsdall Park will welcome Angelenos to sip wine, picnic, enjoy the panoramic views and watch the sunset for another not-to-be-missed season of wine, food, and art at this iconic cultural destination. With the reopening of Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Hollyhock House, one of the nice new features of this year’s fundraiser is the curator-led tours of the house for an additional $12.

Cinespia is an organization that hosts on-site screenings of classic films in and around Los Angeles. They show films from the 1930s through the 1990s. The al fresco Hollywood Forever Cemetery screenings take place on the Fairbanks Lawn (so named for the adjacent crypt housing both Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. and Jr.), and films are digitally projected against the west wall of the Cathedral Mausoleum, which houses the crypt of Rudolph Valentino among many others.
